Non-SYC related updates =P

So yes. Wow! I'm actually updating twice in one day. To all my friends who have grown bored with all my SYC stufs, sorry! Haha. Come on. It's the 3rd year already =D Should have gotten used to me doing SYC related gushing at this time of the year. haha. Ok, on to the non-SYC stuffs.

I am currently cringing a lot less when I hear my FOC main comm-ers making plans coz we have money in our treasury! Woots!! Not a lot but should be enough to tide us over for the next few canvassing events which needs start-up costs and whatever other plans we have. So, yay! Jiayou main comm-ers. We can earn more =P

Outing with the IJC gang on 22nd at the Mind Cafe.
This is our bored funny poses picture. Haha. Man, I haven't seen you guys (Except for Wani and Faiz) since our last outing? In July if I'm not wrong. Right before my FOC. That's a loooooong time! As usual, it's fun with you guys! haha. Hanging out at Starbucks after dinner and Fie and Fai left was fun too. haha. Playing lame-ass camp games and things like fuzzie wuzzie and around the world in eighty days and black magic. haha. Funs =D =D

The family went bowling on the 23rd. By the family I'm referring to the family of the aunt I'm staying with, my mummy and my sis and the other aunt and her family. Ok. For those friends of mine who remembered me as someone who was able to pretty easily hit 70s and 80s and even 100+ once in bowling, please banish that image RIGHT NOW! As of now, at 19 years, 2 months and 30 days of age, I currently really suck at bowling. Like bad. I was barely able to hit 20+ can? Ridiculous man. But oh well, it was followed by a scrumptious dinner at West Coast thanks to my sister. So it was fine. haha. I promise sister once I'm in the working world (currently not really looking forward to that) I'll pay for half of everything ok? And going overseas sounds good too. haha.

Finally, the outing that was supposed to be for me, nurul, bibi and firah. Final attendance: me and nurul. Thanks ah you two. Haha. No lah. I'm just kidding. It's not like you purposely don't want to come.

This is us on the train back from harbourfront with my new W910i!!! So, since it was just the 2 of us, we decided not to go bowling but meet later and headed off to Vivo for dinner (and unplanned shopping). Nurul!! Thanks ah. Was it revenge for bringing you into Pull and Bear where you bought your two green things?? hahaha. I didn't even want to go to Zara in the first place but since you wanted to I thought ok. Cheh, totally didn't expect to end up shopping there. Yes, people. I went shopping. At Zara no less. Bought a brown jacket (which i LOVE) and a turquoise blue long sleeve top (which I also love). There was a sale going on ok? I wouldn't have bought it if not for the sale. hahaha. But seriously, thanks for dinner. I should have like snatched the receipt out of you and insisted on paying.
People!! Fig and Olive food is good!! Slighly higher priced then say Secret Recipe but good food =D sighs. Truly good food. Go there if you have the money =P
Sooo, looking forward to my next gathering that is tomorrow, New Year's Eve with the SYC05 gang. Any SYC05-er who sees this entry and doesn't know about tomorrow but can join us for dinner sms me for details ok?

Picture entry!!

Haha. Yay! Thought it's time for another picture entry =D But there's still a couple more pics that I'm still waiting for from people though (IJ gang outing, cable-car, 4D-magix, my Indo people). But there's still a bunch of photos just waiting to be posted. I'll do SYC07 first!

I shall start like marya did with a picture of the 05's! Woots!

Yay to my dear SYC 05 Singaporean participants! Like i said in the previous entry, we were the stubborn bunch who insisted on squeezing like 15 people (count them!!) on one ten person, at most twelve person table! hahaha. But then, where's the fun if we are all divided and eating at different tables <3<3>

So hanloong, this is for you!! A picture with you in it! Taken Wednesday night when he came to stay over =D This was before we went out to supper at Newton! Yay to darren being able to drive. hahaha.

And here's a picture with Khairi in it!! My roomie Steph and our three temporary roomies on the final night. Marya was too busy sleeping in the next room. cheh. haha. Oh and I realised that we didn't take a roomies picture again this year. Anyway, yup. Temporary roomies coz the guys who decided to stay over (khairi, kelvin, zz) all ended up sleeping in our room except for tristan who took over darren as johnathan's roomie. haha. And sorry if I look super duper damn sleepy lah. It was taken after like 1/2 hour of sleep on my part ok? Oh and this particular shot took 8 tries to achieve. Yes, 8. haha.

Senior ACEs on Wednesday, the first (and only) day where we are all on the bus together!! Like finally! haha. Monday I didn't go for OBS and Tuesday marya, steph, anting, gen all had things to do. Thursday darren didn't go to sentosa and there was no bus trips anywhere on friday. So yes, Wednesday was the only day we were together on the bus. Excuse us looking so tired. We slept at like 3++ the night (or is it morning?) before. Oh and this is the first of our camwhore shots of the day? Woots to Darren. He's a camwhore expert. He got a lot of shots right the first time. No need for retakes.

Yay!! A photo with the Korean chaperone, Ko! He was soooo surprised when I said I wanted to take a picture :D

So, still waiting for more SYC pics =D Will post whenever I get them. I shall end this now and do another post on non-SYC stuff. haha. if not it'll be a tad too long. Cya'll in the next entry!

My SYC07 experience

Subtitle: So we are indulgent in our own fun?

OK. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to make fun of anybody. The person who said that is actually somebody that I like as a person. But we really had no intention of saying anything like that yet that's what you got out of what we said? But meh... Whatever, SYC is all about fun anyway =D =D
And yes, I had oodles of fun this SYC even though its my 3rd time back, 2nd as an ACE (the fancy name for facilitator basically). Every year, the experience is different such that even the 3rd time back is not boring. Well, the programme gets boring but the experience itself doesn't!!

Let's see, first of all, a shout out to my Indonesians!! Yes people, I'm in-charge of Indo this year. And if you read last yr's entry I might sound like I'm repeating myself, but they really are a great bunch of kids. It was just really fun interacting and talking with them. Special mention to my 3 Singaporean attached: Salih, Nicole, Mark. Try to find a free day so that i can treat you guys to dinner or something. Just a way to say thanks for helping me take care of the Indons. And a mention to Vremita too. You were a great partner ACE to have along =D
Hmmm, do give me a call if you guys decided to come back to Singapore. I'll be more than happy to play tour guide! Love all!!

A great big hi to the chaperones!! Haha. This year's chaperones are way cool =D They all very buddy buddy with each other. Putting them all in one bus really is a great idea and I enjoyed my time in the chaperone bus as well. Brilliant!! hahaha.

Hugs and kisses to the senior ACEs!!! (ok fine, I know we don't really want the whole senior/junior thingy but I need to differentiate you guys right??) Basically anting, darren, gen, marya and steph. Thanks for the late night chats, supper and just for all the entertaining times we spent together. Haha. There is no way the SYC 07 experience would be complete if you guys weren't there to discuss things with. haha. It kinda felt weird after camp to enter my room and not have everybody gather round getting ready for a midnight chat. Oh wells. I miss you guys!! And this goes out to johnathan and victoria too! Hmmm... Johnathan, sorry if our late night chats actually caused you to be sooo tired you overslept. haha.

One final shout-out to everybody else!! The rest of the ACEs, hope you guys enjoyed your stint as an ACE. To all the 05s who came back: Yay!!! I didn't realise exactly how much I miss everybody until we were all gathered round the same table (damn stubborn lah we, table not enough to squeeze us but we insist) talking, laughing, reliving memories! SYC05 so rocks lah. haha.

Mr. W.

Watched this in my basic media writing class the other day. MUST WATCH!! Might not understand in the beginning but you'll understand everything at the end of the video. It's a commercial by the way.

So, exam period now. It's exams lah. That's all I can say about it. Haha. 3 more papers. Can't wait for the 21st to be here...

sighs. it has been a pretty hard and damn busy week for me. thank goodness it was over on thursday. It's like, the exams is in how many weeks time (FYI, that would be 2) and we are still expected to hand in pretty heavy weighted assignments assigned by tutors who doesn't seem to weigh the feasibility of it. Like seriously, I know as communications students we are expected to learn how to do everything in an advertising/promotional campaign but can u please look around and see who u are teaching. Goodness, this is BASIC media writing.

It was one assignment but there were like 4 parts. If she gave us all 4 parts at once would still be ok. But no!!! She had to give them in 3 separate instructions, changing the deadline as many times. Which is irritating and inconsistent and distracting. The worst thing was, when she told us the first part of the assignment, there was no indication that it was a graded assignment. Then, how are we supposed to prepare a homepage that looks like a hmpage on MSWord?? And prepare a creative, impressive advertisement "using media platforms such as TV and newspaper" with only $1000?? Advertising on newspaper along cost a couple of thousand, if u want some back page, miniscule ad. Don't even think about getting TV space.

Damn. It still irritates me when I think about that stupid assignment. at least french presentation was fine :D sighs. I want to go to Seychelles!!! Anybody care to smuggle me in their luggage??? haha.

oh wells. Exams coming up. I'm taking a teeny weeny break this weekend from the super hectic week I just had but shall have to get back to work soon. I still need to do research on "media and climate change"and "the future of media". Most likely going to be focusing on journalism. Anybody have any news articles, links etc to any of these two topics, let me know :D

And, if anybody has lobang/ideas on where to get relatively cheap but good nail polish especially if i buy in bulk let me know. it's for fundraising for next year's FOC, in which I'm the financial controller. OMG!! I'm excited about being in the main comm but man, the thought of taking charge of all the money does scare me still sometimes.

Before I close, let me share with you guys some of my fave pics from the Seychelles collection that I started for my presentation. Don't they just make you feel like hanging out by the beach??

funny things to do in an elevator

haha. thought I'd share this. credits go to xenthia for letting me know about it :D

  1. When there's only one other person in the elvator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you.
  2. Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
  3. Ask if you can push the button for other people, but push the wrong ones.
  4. Call the Psychic Hotline from your cell phone and ask if they know what floor your on.
  5. Hold the doors open and say your waiting for a friend. After a while, let the doors close, and say, "Hi Greg. How's your day been?"
  6. Drop a pen and wait until someone goes to pick it up, then scream, "That's mine!"
  7. Bring a camera and take pictures of everyone in the elevator.
  8. Move your desk into the elevator and whenever anyone gets on, ask if they have an apointment.
  9. Lay down the twister mat and ask people if they would like to play.
  10. Leave a box in the corner, and when someone gets on, ask them if they can hear ticking.
  11. Pretend you are a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the passengers.
  12. Ask, "Did you feel that?"
  13. Stand really close to someone, sniffing them occasionally.
  14. When the doors close, announce to the others, "It's okay, don't panic, they open again!"
  15. Swat at flies that don't exist.
  16. Tell people that you can see their aura.
  17. Call out, "Group Hug!"and then enforce it.
  18. Grimace painfully while smacking your forehead and muttering, "Shut up, all of you, just shut up!"
  19. Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside, ask, "Got enough air in there?"
  20. Stand silently and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off.
  21. Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce in horror, "Your one of THEM!" and back away slowly.
  22. Wear a puppet on your hand and use it to talk to the other passengers.
  23. Listen to the elevator walls with your stethoscope.
  24. Make explosion noises when anyone presses a button.
  25. Stare, grinning at another passenger for a while, then announce, "I have new socks on".
  26. Draw a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passnegers, "This is MY personal space!"

this is the main 26 from listology. found a couple of other funny ones. will add them in later.

Right. For those friends of mine who are always complaining that I don't take enough solo shots (mainly Filzah and I think Wani complained once before too. haha), here's 2 for you. That's me in my raya baju for this year. although you can't really see the baju but you can see me in a tudung. hahaha.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
for this picture, i dare faiz to see if she recognize what's hanging on my doorknob :) haha.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

then... i think i owe Filzah prove that I've done a successful jump shot. here's 2 successful jumpshots :D both taken while at my camp in July.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
we did this jump while at the jetty at raffles marina. haha. entertaining ourselves while waiting for our turn on the banana boat. I love the effects with the shadows on the ground!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
if you look at the ground in front of us, you'll see the jumpers' names in the sand :D and our group name too. haha.

and these 2 photos are just for human interest purposes. haha.

So i felt my phone vibrating and I looked at it. Caller ID: Zoe. I picked up and she goes: "Where are you now". That gave me a shock and so I checked the time. 7.50 am. What?!?! So, I told her how I just woke up and that they should go first.

Thought about whether should I make a move to go to lecture or not. However, considering that I have not bathed, my stuff are all over the place, I have not decided what to wear and the queue for 179 at the 8++ time is only slightly (and by that I mean more or less the same) better then the queue at the 7++ hours, I know that the earliest I'll reach school is 915. LEcture ends at 10am. 8am: sent an SMS to Zoe: "Think I shall skip 201 lecture. Shall head on straight to French class later. See you later at 204 lecture." TO which she replied with a possibility of a (usual) pop quiz. I said that I hope there's no quiz especially since it's only the first time I'm skipping 201 but here's my full name and matric no anyways.

8.30: "Bad news! He came in with 2 bags today. You kinda know what that means right??" My immediate thought: damn it!! then I went back to sleep.

Sigh. I've been really tired the past few days. And I don't really see a reason why. All my lack of sleep finally catching up on me or sth?? I seriously seriously have no idea. Ok OK. I shall declare this online. I promise that today is the last time for skipping lectures until the end of semester. Promise!!

and those of you guys who see me online beyond 11.30 tonight and for the next few nights, please please please harass me and ask me to go to sleep ok??

disclaimer: Wani!! Do not kill me ok?? I promise already that it's the last time. Really really!!

Saturday, September 22, 2007

sighs. forget it. I've got stuff I wanted to say but i think again, what's the use?? I hate this. I wish I can just really get myself lost somewhere and to hell with everything else. I gotta go.

recess... recess... recess...

ANd nope. I'm not talking about those times in Pri sch and Sec Sch wehre you rush down to your canteen to grab a bite to eat.

I feel like doing what the HSM2 guys did at the beginning of the movie. For those of u who haven't watched it, boo on you!! haha. anyway, what they did was chant summer, summer, summer as a countdown to their summer vacation. I feel like chanting recess, recess, recess coz in approximately 30 mins from now, I'll be free and on my recess break!!! one whole week of not having to have to come to school. It's not exactly a break coz there are sooo many things to do/catch up on but who cares. a break from school is still a break from school! Woohoo!!

In econs lecture now. The macro tutor is not too bad. Better then the micro tutor who was a tad (understatement here) boring.

anyway, happy recess break to the uni students and make sure u don't slack too much ok?? Use this time to catch up on whatever, finish your term/research papers etc.

take care all and I'll be free sooooon!!!

pre-emptive move

before a certain miss lim who has been threatening to bug me to post a new post really do bug me, i shall pre-empt her by posting this totally boring post. mwahahaha.

sighs. school has been... interesting to say the least. it's not bad lah really. I like the people i hang out with, my classes aren't too bad, comparative public admin (CPA) and french being really fun, and it's a different life from JC. It's just that i realized i need a major attitude overhaul to really be able to handle everything and hopefully have a B+ average maybe?? i know i can maintain a B+ average IF i am able to shed some of my bad habits. anybody care to give me a kick in the butt to sorta kick start my attitude overhaul???

well, journalism could be fun-er if the lecturers were fun-er. Hopefully advertising for com203 and tv writing for com204 would be a lot more fun. and can prof hao in com201 do something that would actually be able to fuuly capture our attentions in lecture?? it's the easiest lecture to drift off in lah.

econs should be fun. but the lecturer is suuuuuuuper boring and the tutorials aren't really doing much for me. that's why i was sooo tempted to skip tut ystd fyi wani and bibi. french quiz next thurs, gotta do revision!! and CPA essay due tomorrow. Ironically, i actually feel that CPA tuts can afford to be longer at least by 1/2 hour so that we can do like a lot more discussions. CPA is such a discussion subject and more time would so totally help.

anyway, that's all lah. i did say it was a boring entry :D

take care all!!

oh by the way, the 3rd para is about my 3 core modules and the 4th para is about my 3 electives.

murphy's law

according to wikipedia, murphy's law refers to:
Murphy's law is an adage in Western culture that broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance. "If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way." It is most often cited as "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" (or, alternately, "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way" or, "Anything that can go wrong, will," or even, "If anything can go wrong, it will, and usually at the most inopportune moment"). The saying is sometimes referred to as Sod's law or Finagle's law which can also be rendered as "Anything that can go wrong, will—at the worst possible moment".

And that's what hapened today.

Luckily, I did not screw up my presentation. However, everything that happened before i stepped into NTU tr 139 just now was a classic example of Murphy's Law.

I did a skeleton of my slides last night and thought I'd be able to tie up everything this morning. But guess what? things did not go as smoothly as that. I woke up later then i had planned which cut into my work time. When I finally finished the slides, it was already later then I planned. I knew I had to print out my presentation outline, so i turned on the printer only to realize that i CANNOT print anything coz the connection from printer to laptop was screwed!! 1.55pm thereabouts when i finally gave up (after installing and re-installing my printer driver like multiple times) and thought i'd go to HSS lib to print.

That's when i bloody remembered that i haven't prepared my clothes for the day yet. Was actually planning to wear red but since my black shirt was more or less ready, i had to wear that instead. No way i could reach on time by bus so I took a cab. (which took me about 7 mins to find!!)

Reached HSS library and the bloody print station can't read thumbdrives. Approached a random girl who was using the PCs at the library to send my work to the printer from her account but i found out that because I'm using ppt 2007 the copy that was read using the lib's computer was totally screwed up. So, i was already late and i had to go to class without the outlines for erveryone. Seriously speaking, i feel quite bad lah.

oh well. this is my first blog entry on my lappie. yay!! hahaah.

the end is near

So, in about 12 hours from now, I fully expect to be holding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in my hands. So... do not disturb eh guys? Especially since I am already fully expecting disturbance from home given that it's my cousin's birthday tomorrow too. And so my aunt's planning to come over to so-called celebrate my cousin's birthday. I can't be too anti-social can i? Especially since the aunt that is coming over will also bring her 2 kids, 2 of my fave cousins in the world right now :) hahaha.

Woohoo!! I really am excited about HPDH. Especially since I'm hearing quite a few bad reviews for the OotP movie. How disappointing.

Anyway, to mee suaz: Yay to a successful outing yesterday. with only 2 out of the 19 pple in the OG not present, that's pretty darn successful lah. It was great hanging out with you guys. see you guys again soon aite??

at time of publishing, 10 hours to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!

Monday, July 16, 2007

haha. Some friends actually asked me if FOC was really that meaningful. Well, i say to them, it is just a testament to how useless i've found my 2007 so far. Yes, i've held a job. The job taught stuff. But it wasn't really useful stuff. And the fact that i really really disliked my boss didn't help. I was sooo eager to get out of working there that one of the most meaningful things i picked up was how to avoid the boss. So the past 5 days at FOC was one of the few times in the past 7 mths where I didn't feel like i was doing something that was a waste of time. (Outings with my friends not counted) Now, if the camp had been EXTREMELY boring and every second was filled with thoughts of going home, then FOC would probably have been the greatest waste of my time. Therein lies the meaning in FOC for me.

Of course, I'm eagerly waiting for the SYC 10th year anniversary dinner end of this year. Hopefully many many many of my overseas friends will come by coz I just wanna say hi to them all over again. (and here is an example of how random and out-of point i can be)

Anyway, it's really irritating when nature inteferes with your plans. sheesh.

ps have i said that my cs seniors are all brilliant actors???

wkw sci foc 2007

for those who are wondering what the initials stand for, it: Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information Freshman Orientation Camp 2007.

So, most of you know that I was kinda undecided about camp and a few of you know that the only reason i went to camp was because i needed to get away from home for a couple of days... Little did I know that it was gonna be one of the most meaningful experiences of my year so far. haha. maybe that's an exaggeration. I dunno... But I do know that if I were told of what i was going to go through, i probably wouldn't be so indecisive. and also, there's the fact that my 2007 has been a total wast of time for the past few months.

It was an interesting experience, interspersed with really really memorable moments. the idea that I'm going through things that are part of the CS culture, things that have been a CS tradition is just darn cool. I'm just glad that the really tiring (at least to me coz i think that it is something that is really hard to do) act of making friends all over again wasn't as tiring as i expected it to be.

erm... you have no idea how good and easy it feels to be a part of a rather slack group who dun mind playing the games but don't see any reason to be so rah-rah over it. haha. the councillor in me who was a member of the school spirit committee did protest a bit, but... the atmosphere in Mee Suah(z) was so relaxed it was nice. i mean i know camps are usually big rah-rah cheer until you want to die events but come on, "The Most Determined Group" didn't do tooooo badly :P (hahahaha. i still think it's the funniest thing ever that they gave us most determined group.) No, seriously, is it really necessary to cheer while you are on the banana boat? That's just ridiculous lah. Just enjoy the feeling and the surroundings cannot ah?? Still must cheer meh? I'm surprised the other groups don't go around cheering during FN... (nyaha... it's just purely annoying. haha)

i won't write a long entry (or at least any longer then it already is) because as long as i know how i feel that's all that is important. and although the bubble has already burst (hahaha. keat would know what this is about) hopefully not that many things have changed.

anyway, thanks to all the seniors, who are really great and nice people, and who organised a camp i enjoyed. to the members of mee suah(z) which includes our OGLs, AGLs, personal photographer and seniors attached: stay hardcore and rock on. yeah!! oh ya. Thanks a lot (please hear a sarcastic tone here) for bringing out my previously undiscovered minah accent. haha.

EDIT: i totally realized i forgot to blog about the outing with the IJ gang. but seriously, it rocked as usual so, what's new right? haha. and wani!! Mon med check-up ok?? confirm details asap??

hahaha. My house had a mini blackout just now. The electric supply tripped and it was quite a major trip that resetting the fuse box inside is not enough. and... we forgot about the main electric system outside. So, my aunt had a minor panic attack until finally my uncle remembered the outside system. what was i doing throughout all this?? Eating breakfast :) i mean seriously, call me complacent or what but, Singapore's utility system is far too effective for it to be anything really major. There will definitely be a solution if you've properly checked everything. At most just call the electrician come by lah.

Anyway, organising my wardrobe now. Was packing for camp lah but thought that i may as well look and cry over my pathetic wardrobe as well. anybody care to contribute to the "buy Siti new clothes fund"???

interesting rarity

Guess what I discovered?? We don't take enough group shots. me, fie, fil, faiz, wani and the 2 boys have gone out together many many many times and we've only had one (yes, ONE) group shot. At seoul garden after As. So if any of you has other gp shots of us, please immediately send one to me. Like really immediately. haha. if I'm not online sms me coz I am most likely just appearing offline. that's the interesting rarity by the way given how many of you guys love taking photos :P

I haven't posted photos in a while so here goes...

erm... i very lazy to edit so i just do a new post... Hope you are enjoying the grey's anatomy wani!! woots! sorry my cousins were being such idiots as usual while you were here. hahaha. and now you would be able to imagine how my surroundings are like while I'm using my computer. hahah.

and faiz!!! thanksies for the mini noticeboard :) so nice!!! and it's soooo cool that u actually have the inclination to do sth like that. hmmm... haha. i would be soooo malas :P

Oh ya... And can somebody give me an idea of wherep can go to look for bags for school... please??? haha.

I need:
a new bag
a jacket
at least another pair of jeans

Yes Wani... I'm updating. *sticks tongue out* haha.

Yay!! 1st post for the month of July aka Harry Potter month!!!!!!

Anyway... These past few days has been... interesting... From a movie drought to 2 movies in like a week. *looks at money flying away at the cashier counter of GV JP* sigh.

So, went to watch nancy drew with Linnet on either Wed or Thurs last week. Can't remembered and can't be bothered to check :P pretty nice movie. Not the typical big action blockbusters that are released in this season but it creates a nice quiet break from all the blockbusters. Fun to watch, pretty funny and it was sooo cozy coz there were only like 5 pple watching it in the cinema at that time... hahaha. Me and linnet and this other group of 2 girls and a guy. Our seats were like behind them so in the whole (relatively smaller theatre) it was like only the centre 5 seats were occupied. So fun :) :) Nancy Drew fans should probably watch it and just remnisce (sort of) over the familiar story line. As in some of what is going to happen is quite predictable but i don't consider it a waste of money.

Then, transformers (robots in disguise!!!) today with Wani. haha. The queue was FREAKING long lah. Stupid kids who decided to use their youth day holiday to watch movie... (oops. no offense to anyone... Just kidding :P) But yup, the theatre was PACKED. theatre 5 some more. one of the bigger ones in GV JP. Coolios!! The movie was just darn cool. haha. and take note that I'm not a big transformers fan (they are showing transformers on kids central, sundays 12.30 i think. for those who are interested) but the effects and the battle scenes and stuff was cool. Yup :) pretty typical action-packed blockbuster actually. hahaha.

Now, 9 more days to HP movie 5 (and Alfred's birthday. hahaha) The trailer looks good. Hopefully it won't be as big of a disappointment as the GoF movie :(. and of course, 18 more days to book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!!! Woohoo!!! (and also my older cousin's birthay. erm... sheesh, can't ignore that...) so... i am not free on 21st July 2007. I don't care how much you *beg* me or whatever, don't try to make an appointment with me on that day ok??

Final woohoo(!!) goes to the outing this sunday!!! yay!! But really must make stuff ah? Erm. I kinda have an idea of what to do but u will find that i recycled the idea from my teacher's day gift last year. unless I have a sudden burst of inspiration... oh well!! Still, getting to meet up with u guys is the bestest :). Now only left my SYC kg melayu (in the words of kak yani) gang. u guys are the only group left that I haven't seen in a while so do sth soon ok??

take care all!!

p/s i'm still deciding about faculty camp... $50 leh... sigh. it sounds like it'll be fun though....

Ok. Don't mind me. you guys know I'm psycho...

Anyway, it was great hanging out with the RC peeps. It has been at least a couple of years since I last saw some of them. Yan yi, Sinnee, Wei Kiat, Louie, Alex, Godfrey, Alfred, Bibi and me. Settlers was fun guys :) Although my throat was a bit sore coz we shouted too much. But then, since everybody was being really noisy, what's the use of us playing a quiet game right? hahaha. Maybe we'll meet again at camp aite?

Wani!! We going to take the stuff tmr or not?? I still need to go Make-A-Wish office to take some stuff for this kid who stays in my area.

Let's see... I've been blogging for about 5 years now. And guess what??? I've only posted 140 posts, including this one. If I didn't see the stats wrongly lah. That shows exactly how much and how regularly I actually blog. Hahahaha.

Why is that so? Coz when there is nothing to blog, I can't be bothered to blog. And all you pple who are regularly asking me to update my blog, don't bother coz I'll just bore everybody with the nothingness and the pointlessness of my entry. This entry would be a case in point. Haha.

Thinking back though, 140 posts within 5 years which is about 1825 days is quite pathetic. Hahahaha. Oh well...

Nice meeting up with you Wani. have a nice trip!! See you when you get back. Sleep well on the bus tonight. hahahaha.

Monday, May 28, 2007

haha. This would be totally random but I want to go eat ice-cream!!! Anybody wanna go with???

And a bon voyage wish to Weiling!! Have fun at Israel girl! So cool... Can't wait to hear about it when you get back. I wanna see pics too!!!!! hahahaha.

Oh. and we can finally get our testimonial, A lvl cert and the school yearbook. Come on... All the other schools got theirs ages ago. Sheesh...

So, that all!!

stupid!! ARGH!!

Ok. So I deleted my previous post coz it's just gone now.

Anyway, the gist of my previous post was actually the fact that I got accepted into NTU's mass comm and also NUS's FASS. Latest update: I have accepted the offer from NTU after i spend a few (useless) days trying to decide if that is really the best choice for me. Thanks to the many people who continuously reminded me that communication studies is something i've wanted for quite a while now. So yup, if nothing goes wrong, I'll be a comm studies student come 6 August.

Wow. That still feels quite unreal. Like i never expected to even get within smelling distance of that particular course. Wahahaha. To my friends who are still waiting for their respective letters of acceptance: Hang in there. It'll be in the mail soon enough!!

So, went to "tea" with Faiz and Wani today. Cakes and lemon tea at Secret Recipe IMM. *sigh* Hahaha. I know it's damn sad that I actually had headaches from eating too much chocolate. haha. But that's just how my body is wired. Can't have too much caffeine or caffeine containing stuff. I get headaches. Nice cakes though :P Then Zul met up with Faiz and we had dinner at the just opened, revamped and totally new looking IMM LJS. hahahahaha. Lots of things for an orange lover like me! Like orange chairs and orange light thingys. :P Great seeing you guys again. Especially Wani whom i haven't seen in a while.

I promise i'll have a tagboard by tomorrow-ish. Wani has been asking for it... hahaha.

So, guess what? Now you can blog on blogger in 19 different languages. Woweee. haha. Yes, I'm being a bit sarcastic here. I mean, my mother tongue is Malay which basically uses the roman alphabet but I would probably at most type one Malay word for every 10 entries. hahahaha. Ok. That's really random and useless but don't mind me ok? I'm just feeling a bit sick :( darn.

Anyway, to those who commented on my previous entry regarding the HP books: haha. Thanks for the support guys. At least I don't feel like too much of a Potter freak.
Faiz: sure, you can chope first. AFTER i finish reading it obviously. hahahaha. Oh and your Anne Frank is with one of the 4/4 girls still is it?? Was it Linnet?
Yana: Miss you too girl. Take care of yourself ok? love ya!!
Adha and nette: hahaha. Yay to harry potter and the deathly hallows :)

Erm, I'm not trying to like cement my position as a Potter freak/geek/whatever description you want to put here but it's 100 days to the launch of book 7 and 90 days to the premiere of the Order of the Phoenix movie. And no. I DID NOT COUNT. haha. Thanks lots to HPANA for the countdown. People!! Please let me know what do you think is the fate of our hero? would he die? and is Snape good or bad?

On to other totally un-Potter related news:
(this is a bit old but bear with me ok?) Had a great outing with Marya, Khairi, Yani and Mus last Sat. Haha. A sort-of going away gathering for the two guys. Hmmm... Khairi and Mus have been in NS for 5 and 4 days respectively. Wonder how they are doing... Oh ya, thanks for the Ramen ten treat Mus!! Hahaha. Next time please come early lah. Although we can't be like Marya the cheaterbug who reaches the meeting place like 15 mins before time just to demand a treat. hahaha. Remember ah, next time those who come way before meeting time won't be considered. :P Oh, and Khairi taught us how to knit :) I wonder what those people on the train are thinking seeing this guy teaching girls how to knit. This is specifically to Marya: I've already transferred the $18.45 to your account. $0.45 pun nak kira. sheesh. haha. and Sorry if we irritated you by scolding your you-know-who but he really ignored us lah. Where can like that?? :P Waiting for pics from Kak Yani!!

I'll try to put in a tag-board over the next few days ok?

harry potter and the deathly hallows

Right. So, here are the covers and the summaries for the book according to the respecctive editions:

Children's cover:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety, and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him!

In this final, seventh installment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling unveils in spectactular fashion the answers to the many questions that have been so eagerly awaited. The spellbinding, richly woven narrative, which plunges, twists and turns at a breathtaking pace, confirms the author as a mistress of storytelling, whose books will be read, reread and read again.

Adult Cover:

Harry is waiting in Privet Drive. The Order of the Phoenix is coming to escort him safely away without Voldemort and his supporters knowing if they can. But what will Harry do then? How can he fulfil the momentous and seemingly impossible task that Professor Dumbledore has left him with?

Woohoo!! 21st of July!! Never thought I'd be this happy for my cousin's birthday. hahaha. Ooh. And the British version of the book is 608 pages long which makes it thinner than Order of the Phoenix but just about 1 page ( i checked!!) more than Half Blood Prince. Supposedly it's the second longest book.

sorry if nobody is as interested in this development as I am. haha. :)

weekly update.

Erm. Those waiting for me to put tagboards, wait a while more ok? lazy lah. just make do with my comments board first can? please???

Right. and I shall try not to only update once a week. especially since I'm not working and should have hell of a lot more time. erm. Anybody has any place I can work at??

So, met 3 different groups of friends this week :)

Went to catch the movie 300 with Wani on Tuesday. Good movie, the plot, the characterisation. and of course, a lot of half-naked men. hahaahaha. ok. Erm, the plot is great so, go watch it!!! Then, met up with Faiz and went to Spinelli to visit Sham!! yay to cookie spin and ebony and ivory cheesecake. yum :) hung out there until 6.30...

then went to meet marya to ambush Khairi. hahaha. Poor guy had to treat us dinner coz marya and I said that we both reached first. hahaha. Erm, for those thinking of eating at 2hot, our opinion is that the food's not too hot. Other places have much better food. and they can't seem to fill bowls to the brim. :P So, thanks Khairi for dinner and Marya for dessert. The cakes that symbolised the anniversary of our friendship. hahah. Not really at the exact date but we can pretend can't we?? :P I'll treat you guys to coffee another time ok? Promise that I won't forget!! Yup yup. Oooh. And I had another cheesecake that day. yummie!! Secret Recipe's classic cheesecake. Yay!! Oh and Marya, thanks ah for giving me the shopping bug. darn. Had no intention of buying anything but that girl persuaded me to buy a top. Whatever, find, the shop had a 20% discount. May as well I guess. And the pre-discounts prices wasn't too bad either.

Then, had another mini-dinner outing with Bibi, Nurul, Shirgi :) Love you gals and hope you love the present we got you Shir!!! Hahaha. We just spent our time at JP.

well, still haven't come to a final, solid decision regarding uni application. Have to make a decision soon though. *sigh*

Wednesday, March 07, 2007

ok. I'm just really really confused and I really have no idea about the decisions I have to make. What am I supposed to do? What courses do I really want? Which of the social sciences would i choose over the other?? Econs? Sosiology? Psych? Poli sci? Although Econs is usually not grouped with the other soc sci subjects...

Communications studies. Should I go for it? I am one B short from what they expect but no harm trying right? At most I just don't get accepted lah.

Should I also try applying to SMU? I do have my AP AS grade which means that i can get exempted from doing AS in my first or second year (can't rmb which yr) which also means that if I go to SMU, I actually have one module less to do.

Damn. Bottomline is, I can't really see myself as an undergrad. I mean seriously, me???

Right. I should get to finally throwing away all my notes etc. My room is messy enough as it is. May as well clear all my junk to make space for all the upcoming uni things.

Damn, I am going to be an undergrad?? Time pass by far too quickly.

Well, maybe I should start applying first before going around calling myself and undergrad.

p/s for those who still don't know/is curious: My A level results aren't exactly fantastic. It's pretty ok lah but I'm just really disappointed by my malay grade. Anyway, once again, I've got more Bs then any other grade. not Surprised. Jack of all trades, master of none. That's me.
Erm right. I got a BBCB3. Yup.

results day

RESULTS DAY or as my dear Econs teacher likes to call it: payday...

Sigh. I literally screamed when i heard the news this afternoon... I was just freaked put I guess... Oh well, so me right? hahaha.

Quite sad though that it's on friday. Coz friday was supposed to be my last day at work. Instead, my last day is now thurs. Kinda abrupt lah.

I'm worried. I dunno. I guess I can pass but who wants a pass only right?? but the way I'm thinking right now, I don't even know what would be a good enough grade for me. Damn it lah...

Whatever... I'll see you guys on friday, 2.30 pm, Innova JC's newly airconditioned hall. Let's hope our dear principal and whatever teacher that will be talking don't take too much time. I just want to get the results over and done with.

All the best to all A level-ers.

Forms today: 6
Forms total: 60
Calls today: 108 (i think...)
Calls total: 378
Total updated as of today:
week 2: 378+60 = 438
week 2+1: 438+74= 512

Damn it. I am no where near the target. By the end of this week, I'm supposed to have updated at least 800. Thank goodness there's Abigail to help me pick up the slack. ARGh!!!

Anyway, my planner is now full of scribbles like those in blue. Instead of using my planner to right down appointments or whatever, i'm using it to track how many of our cc members I actually manage to contact and update within a day. *sigh* Resignation day is near though. I hate leaving them in the lurch but by the time I leave, the PA wants all CCs to more or less finish anyway. I CANNOT STAY ANY LONGER!! It's just far too tiring for me and the travelling I have to do just makes it worse. Oh well...

A Level results day also coming soon. I guess it's good that at least I have work to help me stop thinking about it every other hour. I really have no idea what to expect.

A great big hi/hello/hey to all the friends I met at yesterday's NTU course talks :) hahaha.

that's all, just thought I should make an effort to actually blog. haha. Oh by the way, I'm not gonna put a tagboard for quite a while coz I seriously have no idea where to squeeze it. My left margin is pretty long right now. So, do feel free to use my comments board instead ok?? You don't even have to log in into blogger coz I'm using haloscan. Yup yup.

Ok. I know I'm like super anti-social online nowadays...

*stupid work*

Quite a number of my online friends have also been asking where I am! ARGH!!!!

Anyway, here's an update to say that there's still a couple of problems with this skin but it'll probably take me weeks/months to actually make the needed/wanted/required changes given how free i have been, so... bare with me alright?

And I really do love this particular layout. Totally love at first sight. Whoopee!!!

Survivor Fiji has started and they are also going to be showing Amazing Race All-Stars on TV!!!!! Woohoo!!! Finally. What was the last Amazing Race Season that channel 5 actually broadcasted??? Sheesh. Luckily there is the live telecast in the morning so that I can watch it before going to work.

On something kinda related, Amazing Race Asia. I can't believe JoeJer and Zab won!!! I mean it's so cool that they made history and all that but I wanted Andrew and Syeon to win :(

Erm. A super belated congratulations to my JSSRCY juniors for the West District Championship.
Hopefully all you O level-ers did well enough, oh ya, whoever that guy who made it to the top NA student list from JSS: WOOHOO!!! hahaha.
All this reminders of O level results did make me panic about my A level results... ABIGAIL TAN!!! Please make sure I don't panic and I'll try to stop you from panicking too...
According to Abigail (she's my fellow temp staff-er at work): her friends say that results might be on the 28th of Feb. ARGH!!!!!!!!

Finally, those going !@fun tomorrow, let's all have fun together ok??? Pioneers of IJC, let's try to show some support to the inaugural IJC funfair even if we are feeling very envious of the fact that the hall is now air-conditioned :P Remember, when we take back our results, well be able to enjoy it too!! hahaha.

Love lots,
Busy Siti :)
